After You've Gone

Another tune with the Gent and Parkel #9

When I got Paul's performance / instructional DVD and heard his arrangement of this tune I just HAD to learn it. I don't think Chet ever did an instrumental version of this tune. Just the Suzy Bogus version which is great, but Paul really did a fine, fine job of coming up with this arrangement for it !

My humble attempt at Paul Yandell's wonderful arrangement of

After You've Gone

Very nice rendition Mitch! One of my favorite tunes also...

The last time I saw Paul, he gave me an "impromptu" performance of this tune (in the lobby of the Sheraton Hotel) at my request. Before he got through the first measure there were about 40 people standing around listening! :)

LOL... hey, Mitch, nice job on that. Maybe we're all getting lazy... I'm sure many others enjoyed that as well. I also based my arrangement of this tune on Paul's but, I nearly always put a little of my own stuff into my arrangements as is the case with this one. I also enjoyed "Baby's Coming Home" which I think is a really fun tune to play. I get together with a couple of pickin' buddies on most Friday evenings, one of which is a member of this board (George Mayle) and he plays all those nice rolls and harmony in the background for me which makes it sound really great. Anyway, I'm Rambling here. Keep 'em coming! Thanks, Tom W.
