I hadn't heard from my publisher for a while about my book, 'Paul Yandell, Second to The Best; so, not knowing how the business works, I sent a note to the editor I had communicated with and got this response
Hi Norm. We won't be into the book until late summer when we start planning our winter catalog. Look for cover and catalog materials for proofing, then eventually galleys, and layouts by year's end.
So the chetboard has two authors, different publishers, looking at the end of the year for fruition.
The waiting kinda drive ya nuts...

Norm, you're definitely right, the waiting CAN make you a bit stir crazy. But it is a great feeling once you see a book project through to completion -- I still get a huge feeling of satisfaction knowing that my two previous books are out there for people to discover. And I personally can't wait to see your book on Paul.
