It's a hollow-body electric, natural finish, two f-holes, has a sticker inside of one, but NOserial #. Alledgedly built in 69. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Sounds like it could be the Epiphone Chet Atkins Country Gentleman II. Although they were made around 1989. The "vs" would stand for "vintage sunburst" So the one that you are talking about might be refinished if it is a natural finish. I've owned a couple of the Epiphone Country Gentleman II's. The label just says "Chet Atkins-" and then an some letters for the finish color. Can you post a photo of the guitar?

Maybe this'll work. Mistakenly (obviously) listed it as natural.

Yes, it is for sure a Epiphone Country Gentleman II. They were made in 1989 and 1990. Originally it had a serial number sticker on the back of the headstock. From what I could find when I owned mine, they are made in Korea.

The Epiphone Country Gentleman II came in Ebony, Wine Red, & Vintage Sunburst. For some reason many of them had finish problems. The finish had a cloudly look on several of them causing them to be factory seconds.

Nothing wrong with guitars made in Korea. The 5xxx series Gretsches are made there. But I was under the impression that guitars like Country Gentleman II and Country Classic II were double cutaways? Seems I was wrong concerning this one.

Vidar,
The double cutaway "II" designations only apply to the Gretsch guitars, not the Epiphone.
