I had that guitar added to my watch list being interested how the last minute bidding would go. Just don't know whether to cry or ignore. I've happened into great deals by being patient and sniping. And certainly can't complain about getting a few things below normal prices but this auction comes to close to home.

With only 2 bidders, the first bid $1200 and never returned. The winner sniped the auction but not dramatically, by placing his bid almost 10 minutes before close. Perhaps the first fellow got too content that he would win or got busy and forgot to check at closing time. If you will bid $1200 certainly you would follow up with at least $1250.

I thought the ad was better than most but I don't recall any neck width verbiage which would have frightened anyone who fears a non-standard neck. If that was a factor (and we'll never know) and if there is any lesson to be learned, perhaps it's to ignore putting dimensions in the description, just use lots of pictures and endorsements.

Gosh at $1225 I wouldn't mind having a spare NC to keep in the trunk of the car. I have 6 guitars and the -59 is by far the most playable of them. And don't anyone say "it's the economy". That's a lame excuse when it comes to quality goods of any type as people who buy quality aren't the ones out of a job, there's still plenty of people with money satisfying their wants for unnecessary toys.

"Gosh at $1225 I wouldn't mind having a spare NC to keep in the trunk of the car." Come on, that´s not the place to keep such a work of art! You should have it beside you in your bed.

Apparently the eBay sale went bad and it was relisted and it sold today for $1500 with free shipping. Still a steal but less so. The seller, who from the pictures is a store, may have reneged on the low price. Can't blame them.

One thing I found strange about the seller's description of the guitar was the lack of mentioning Paul Yandell's involvement. There was double-talk claiming that Chet's name wasn't on the guitar because Chet didn't endorse the guitar when it was made (1959). Guess the seller isn't a devoted enthusiast.

Since the sale is completed this may disappear soon:

That's not what I read from the description; he said that Chet didn't endorse the guitar when it was made in 2005.
