I've really been wanting a good 12 string acoustic guitar lately and I came across this. It is in my area and it looks like I could pick it up this morning. Is this a good deal?

Price seems ok (I guess)

Go check it out. The neck may have a warp to it that can't be fixed. 12 string guitars go that way over time.

Gretsch acoustics never made much of a market hoo hah so it depends on whether it feels good to you.

Haggle with him some. Can't hurt.

Be advised that the twelve string novelty wears off pretty quickly

I have a few. No Gretschs though. If you are interested in folk music accompaniment, in my ears' humble opinion, the Guild Dreadnoughts were the best for overall sound. They seem to be the ones, that a lot of folk singers used. I do not own one of them, but it was a dream at one time. The jumbos are supposedly better balanced, and might be better for solo guitar work. Smaller bodies seem to defeat the overall sound and purpose of 12 strings.
