As always, I could be wrong, but I believe that all Del Vecchio RESONATORS come from the factory with a zero fret. (As anyone can see on the Del Vecchio website, EXCEPT ME, their classical type guitars are not zero fretted). Those DVR's, that lack a zero fret, have probably had their fingerboards replaced. In my experience, (except for the 1 in 100 that Mr. Atkins mentioned), it is the best way to get each guitar to achieve its full potential (sound). That said, there have been some reports in this forum, that DV may now be doing a better job on intonation and getting their fret spacing correct. The gal that works on my guitars, usually puts a zero fret back on the new DVR fingerboards just to make it look "original"??? As far as making the DVR guitar perform/sound better, I don't know the answer to that one. Mr. Atkins' short scale DVR had a zero fret, and his long scale DVR (Doyle Dykes gift) didn't have a zero fret. Mr Dobbins said that he recorded with both of them, so maybe, if it does make a difference, it isn't much of a difference.

Is the bottom side of the biscuit that sits on the resonator completely flat or is it partially routed out in the center?

These are some measurements from 8 of them, probably all made about the same time. Therefore, they may differ from year to year, depending on who made them at DV. The design has varied on the top, so they may have varied some on the bottom also over the years. They are not very repeatable, like a CNC part might be, but it may also be due to the type of wood they were made from, causing the imperfections.
Overall maximum outside diameters: 3.230", 3.255", 3.202", 3.220", 3.196", 3.212", 3.200", and 3.180".
The wooden part that contacts the cone is a ring of wood. the first measurement is the outside diameter of the ring against the biscuit, which then tapers in to the outside ring contact surface (second measurement). The third dimension is the inside diameter of the wooden contact ring measured at the cut out under surface of the biscuit (not much taper on this surface). These do not necessarily correspond to the order of the previous set of numbers.
