Vintage Electric Box Guitar: Chet Atkins?

Hey ya'll,

There's an ad on craigslist right near my area for a vintage 'Electric Box Guitar' Chet Atkins promotional. Never heard of it but it looks interesting. Who really made this guitar and is it worth it? Here's the link to the craigslist ad:

I have the LP and I think the accompanying book, but I know nothing about the guitar.

I think this is the guitar that the F.A.M.E. course used for their course. It was run by Chet's brother, Jim, if I'm not mistaken. There was a complete guitar course that came with cassettes, film strips and projector and the guitars could be ordered then.
