Not too much about why he left Taylor. I think it was just time to move on.. but that is just speculation on my part.

Seems like I read or heard somewhere that Doyle liked Guilds and also that they were under the Fender umbrella where he can play Teles (and maybe even Strats) if he so chooses. I got the impression that he and Bob Taylor still maintain their friendship.
