Just wondering if anyone out there has tried refitting at Gretsch 6120 DC with TV Jones pickups? I really like the tone of these on my NC better than the standard pickups that came on my 6120 and have thought about making the change.

I have an NC and agree about the pickups. I have a friend who has an old 60s 6120 double cutaway which has the supertron at the neck as stock and the normal (not overwound,) filtertron at the bridge. I always thought it sounded nearer to the Chet sound than the standard two filtertron models.
Don't know if that helps, but why not go for it - its cheaper than a new guitar - and its fun!

I put a set of TV Jones pickups in a 5120 that I won last year. I used a chrome Super’Tron and Classic Plus. It sounds near enough to my 6122-1959 for me, and I like the 16" body and short scale, so it gets played more than my 6122.

Thanks guys. I appreciate your responses. I'm still considering what I'll do regarding switching out the pickups.
