Re: CGP/Mister Guitar exhibit at HOF
I sure hope that they decide to keep that exhibit going through CAAS next summer. Currently, it's scheduled to go through June. John Knowles told me that he said something to them about it, and it would only make sense to go through CAAS weekend with so many more Chet fans in Nashville at that time. I went by the CMHOF on Sunday after CAAS since I had a late flight, and they had a huge sign with Chet's picture on the side of the building. They are really advertising it, as well they should.

Bill, I agree. It wouldn't make sense to deprive Chet's largest "official" group of fans from seeing an exhibit dedicated to him. How ironic for it to open after CAAS in 2011 and the close before the next one in 2012!

Re: CGP/Mister Guitar exhibit at HOF
I went to their website and it shows the exhibit ending in June. I sent them an email asking if they might consider extending it into July for the many Chet fans that come from all over the world. Maybe some other folks might consider doing the same. Here's the email address if anyone would like to contact them:

Re: CGP/Mister Guitar exhibit at HOF
I suggest us Chet Fans petition them to extend it to the end of July 2012 so..(Like Bill Said)...us attendees at the convention can go to it. Seems really strange that they have it at a time when the convention is not going on. I'm gonna email them as well. Maybe John Knowles can shed some light on it and get them to extend it.

Somehow this bit of "planning" on the part of the HOF doesn't surprise me.

Re: CGP/Mister Guitar exhibit at HOF
Ok, it looks like this is important to many Chetboarders and CAAS visitors.
Therefore I just set up this online petition:
http://www.change.org/petitions/country ... -july-2012
Sign it and spread the link in other forums, among guitarist friends, on Facebook and everywhere else.
And do that QUICKLY!
Because the petition already ends on August 25th.
There are two reasons for that:
1) We shouldn't wait until the follow-up exhibtion is planned in detail.
2) The opening month ends with events with Tommy Emmanuel and John Knowles on August 27th and 28th. Perhaps the list of signatures could be presented to the Hall of Fame representatives that weekend.

I'm usually the last to know, and I suspect a lot of you on this board already know of the Chet items, commemorating the upcoming exhibit, that are available on the HOF website. Anyway, I ordered this today.

I'm going to the HOF this week to see Chet's exhibit. I'm pretty excited. I'll fill you in after my visit. John
