I would like to get the tab for Chet's tune on his "Solo Sessions" 2-CD set for "Cascade" - CD #1 - cut #5. It's the Scott Joplin version, not the one we are most familiar with. Does anyone know the guitar tuning for this song? Sounds like maybe an open "D"? Anybody have a copy of the tab or know if it is in a book somewhere? It's starting to "bug" me and we all know what that means...I'll be up late lots of nights!!! Any help will be appreciated!! Thanks, Steve

Hi Steve,

John Knowles did a transcription of "The Cascades" that is published in his FingerStyle Quarterly #22 available on his web site http://www.johnknowles.com/archives01.htm.

I just listened to the Chet recording on the Solo Sessions. It's in standard tuning, but sounds like all the strings are tuned down a half step.

Regards,
Bob F.

There's also a transcription in John McClellan's excellent Solo Sessions book and many more besides - spent many happy hours attempting to get it down. Not sure if it's still available, but here's the original link: http://www.chetatkinssolosessions.com/
