Pure Thirds

How did Chet manage to get his thirds (sixths and tenths too for that matter) to sound so pure? I can't, for the life of me, get them to sound anywhere near to the pureness Chet gets out of his guitars. What's the secret?

I believe if Paul Yandell were still with us he would credit a high action as a big part of it.

The rest of it is just Chet being a well practiced guitarist

That should do it.

I think arching your fingers helps get a cleaner sound. Al
