"Mastering Thumbpicking": Richard Smith's Instructional DVD

Postby Tony Enamel » Thu Aug 07, 2014 4:38 am

Hello everybody,

our well-known und admired Richard Smith just released his first instructional DVD, called "Mastering Thumbpicking".

Here's what Richard has to say:
"Mastering Thumbpicking will get you guys on the right track to gaining independence between the thumb and fingers, so that you have control over the phrasing of the melody, while the rhythm stays constant, plus adding variations to standard progressions to make your arrangements more interesting using riffs and jazz-like chords, different chord shapes, harmony and piano-style bass lines! 90-minute DVD, includes music and tab pdf file. Recommended for intermediate guitarists striving for a new level in their playing! Songs taught: Happy Blues, Windy & Warm, Farewell My Bluebell, Struttin'."

Available from his website:

Or as a digital download from Homespun Tapes:

I'd say Richard always has a new trick in the bag for everybody.
Sounds promising!

Cheers -

Ingo

Thanks Ingo for the post. I'm curious about the instant download. It's actually downloading it right now!! Richard has really got the funkiness that I'm hoping will rub off on me, if I listen/practice enough. These things are also great for inspiration. I need that as well as lots of practice.. LOL Take care Ron.
