9th Annual Chet Atkins Tribute Show - THIS TUESDAY!

Postby JohnHaring » Sat Jul 05, 2014 9:35 pm

Hope to see you all at the 9TH ANNUAL CHET ATKINS TRIBUTE SHOW at 3rd and Lindsley in Nashville this coming Tuesday, July 8th at 7:30pm (doors open at 7:00pm). As you know, for the past nine years, this show has been the unofficially opening event for CAAS.

Tickets are only $20 for General Admission and $35 for Up-Front VIP Seating and can be purchased online at http://www.chetatkinstributeshow.com or at the door (there are less than 30 VIP tickets left). Proceeds go to The Inspire America Foundation's "Keep the Music Alive" project for musical instruments for underprivileged children.

Take a look at what Jack Silverman, Managing Editor of the Nashville Scene had to say about the Tribute Show in the latest edition:

"There were 1,352 guitar pickers in Nashville back in 1966, at least according to the Lovin’ Spoonful song “Nashville Cats,” and today it’s probably more like 13,520. But few if any of them have had a greater influence on Nashville music than the late Chester Burton Atkins. Atkins managed to find that elusive balance between mind-blowing technique and exceptional taste, and pretty much set the standard for finger-style guitar. (Never mind producing many of the greatest country records of all time.) For several decades now, Chet Atkins devotees from across the world have been making the annual pilgrimage to Music City for the Chet Atkins Appreciation Society convention, and since 2006, the festivities have kicked off with the Chet Atkins Tribute Show. This year’s edition is titled “The Young Guns, The Chet Regulars and The Nashville Superpickers.” Among the cast: session-man-extraodinaire Brent Mason, blues and jazz dynamo Jack Pearson, 2013 National Thumbpicking Grand Champion Dan Bankhurst and Junior Champion Parker Hastings (who’s 13 years old), 16-year-old Australian Tommy Emmanuel protégé Josh Needs, and a slew of other phenomenal players including Jim Nichols, Ben Hall, Jonathan Brown, Paul Moseley, Joe Hudson and the great Jerry Reed’s daughter, Seidina Reed. Presented by radio show The Guitar Show With Andy Ellis and Random Music Group; proceeds will benefit The Inspire America Foundation’s “Keep the Music Alive” project to provide musical instruments to underprivileged children."

Or you can check it out on the Scene's website: http://www.nashvillescene.com/nashville/9th-annual-chet-atkins-tribute-show/Event?oid=4222801

I hope you can join us on Tuesday for a great show.

I'm sure this will be spectacular and wish I could be there but will not arrive in Nashville for CAAS until Thursday.
Will anyone be recording this on video? Will it be streamed live? Inquiring minds want to know!

Many thanks,

Len
