Does not surprise me to hear that Paul gave you Chet's vibrola. I have learned that Paul gave various things to folks who he knew had a great admiration for Chet. One day out of the blue I got a large envelope in the mail from Paul with some the chord charts they had used on stage when they were playing "Dance with Me" in the symphony dates. I was very surprised and of course honored.

Paul was one of the nicest, most giving person you could meet. He was always there to pick a tune or show you the correct way to play the tune. I struggled with the ending to "This Can't Be Love" and Paul took the time to sit down and show it to me. For a superb picker (and right hand man to Chet), he wasn't boastful. CAAS isn't the same and never will be. It's sad to look over near Craigs table and not see him there anymore. I always looked forward to talking with him and hearing stories. He could really tell em'. It was my highlight of CAAS.

I have a hat that says "Chet Atkins" on it and the music to "Gibson Girl" hand written by Chet, that Paul gave to me and Kenny Winkler at the Cracker Barrel in Goodlettesville, Tn at lunch one day. I made the 3 hr drive several times to have lunch with Paul and Kenny.
