Nicknames on this new Chetboard
I just have to come out and say again how much I hate the nicknames that are popping up all over this new board. I don't know who is posting and in my opinion, it just plain stinks! Who wants to see a post by Birdbrain, Stickball or Crotchrot. I know what some of you are thinking, "Who cares what you think Roger" but I'm going to tell you anyway. There I did it!!

Re: Nicknames on this new Chetboard
I've used "the norm" for years. My name Is norm but my last name is one of those long dutch things that tend to deflect trains of thought (van maastricht) The crew at the local supermarket are required to say 'thank you mister ____" at the end of the transaction and I always feel bad for them because I know it's going to be a struggle for them to get it and only maybe one out of ten get it even close. Hail, I have a mild speech impediment so it's even hard for me to manage.
I try to stay with the norm in whatever sites I sign on to. I'm that way on gretschpages but unfortunately it was not availble at facebook.

Norm, I enjoyed you on Cheers! Your nickname should be recognized by everyone.

Re: Nicknames on this new Chetboard
I ran a saloon for twenty years and when I would come in people would holler "NORM" as if it were an inside joke whcih, of course, it was. The thing was I didn't get it because I was at work when 'Cheers' was playing. I never saw the show until after I exited the saloon business.
I thought they had taken leave of theire senses...

Re: Nicknames on this new Chetboard
I have nothing to hide about using my real name. I've been researching how to change my username and it seems
to be unchangeable. I've gone through everything I can find after clicking on "User Control Panel" and my username
is "unclickable". If anyone can enlighten me, I'm perfectly willing to change it.
thanks,
Rande

Re: Nicknames on this new Chetboard
Same problem. After trying to find a way to change the user name, I asked if it were possible and never got a response. I guess I did not pay enough attention when I created the account to 1) the login name will be your screen name and 2) to my knowledge, once that account is created, your screen name cannot be altered.
So I am glad I used my first name instead of something that would have been regretful...because I thought that would only be the LOGIN name, because some boards allow you to have a screen name. My bad.
