I was pleasantly surprised this Easter Sunday morning when I got in my car to go play for an Easter Brunch at a country club in Georgia. My radio dial was preset to a regional radio station that a friend of mine had returned to the air last week. When I cranked the car the song they were playing was “River of Jordan” by the Louvin Brothers with Paul Yandell playing the guitar fills and thumbpickin’ break. The station WRGC-AM broadcasts on 540Khz from Sylva, NC to Cherokee and the Smoky Mountains region of the North Carolina mountains.
It was nice to hear Paul playing, especially being Easter Sunday morning.
Thanks, Ronnie Evans
Re: River of Jordan on radio
Sorry, If some of you may have been expecting to hear the Louvin Brothers song on radio. The station doesn't have live streaming yet having just returned to the air after a 7 month hiatus, but not to worry, here is a YouTube presentation with the original recording playing. Paul Yandell's guitar cuts right through the mix loud and clear.
