Jeff Bridges CD - 1959 Country Gentleman

Postby Steve Moran » Wed Mar 28, 2012 2:18 pm

Have any Chetboarders out there bought the CD actor Jeff Bridges put out? On the cover he's holding what I believe is a Paul Yandell designed Country Gentleman. The music is pretty good and the first song - "What a Little Bit of Love Can Do" is catchy. He sang it on the Mike Huckaby show a short while back. Thinking I may have read where he used the CG guitar in the movie he was just in as a singer. Though on the CD it doesn't mention he did any guitar playing but did the lead singing.

Anyway thought this was interesting. The songs have a nice country feel with a little bit of rock feel thrown in and have always enjoyed him in the movies. Thanks.

In the movie Crazy Heart, Jeff was pictured many times with what appeared to be a 6122 1959 reissue. Jeff is a good musician and appeared to be doing his own guitar playing in the movie.

it was indeed a 6122-59. Gretsch had a drawing for the instrument itself. Someone (of course) won it

It warn't me...

That should do it.

IIRC there was an interview with him and the interviewer mentioned that he owned a 6122-1959, or words to that effect.
