More good points, Norm, even if you have made them before. Definitely worth repeating from time to time.

Breakage is not really a problem for me, as I have, for years, kept the underneath (picking area) of my nails very smooth (I like to use 600 grain sand paper for smoothing after initial shaping). The problem is just wear from picking, especially the index finger, since it's the one that does duty on the wound strings.

John McClellan also has a good video on nail care, included in his Chet in 3D DVD series.

Thanks again. For now I am getting along okay with the acrylic tip, but I don't feel like I want to depend on them.
