This thread reminds me of some footage I recently saw on youtube of a Jimmy Dean interview with Chet from the early 70's. As he was about to play "Steeplechase Lane", Chet mentioned that the tune was written by Jerry Reed and the reason it was named that was because that was the street he lived on. Out of curiosity I googled "Steeplechase Lane Nashville, TN" to see what came up but to my dismay it identified that there were two totally different streets bearing that name in Nashville. If some of you guys know Chet's former addresses I figure you might also know where Jerry's old house was. Thanks

I don't know about Jerry Reed's Steeplechase Lane home, but here's his home during his "Smokey and the Bandit" heyday:

Here's his final home in Brentville, TN.:

Looks like Jerry's final house is for sale too:

You can look inside with the photos too.

Mike, up until 2005 I used to live in Thousand Oaks, not far from David Elliot. Half a million dollars would get you a slightly average home there now.

My brother built a house right off the golf course in Westlake Village back in '67 for $60K.

My niece said that sold in 2003 for $1.5M ! ! !

Unfortunately, he'd sold it back in '81 for a lot less money :- (~
