Steve, Chet is the reason for the existence of the convention but there have been so many other influences since he left us. I don't even own a steel string acoustic but pretty much all of the newer players seem to be using them. Parker Hastings and Brooks Robertson are exceptions to that but there are lots of those influenced by Tommy Emmanuel. Many of them weren't even born yet when Chet passed away!

Rande......A Wallace steel string acoustic is Parker's main guitar. Of course he has others.

Steve I knew he had one of those but I’ve usually seen him perform on his Kirk Sand that his folks gave him for a graduation present and I was there when it was presented to him! His reaction was quite something and of course it was fun to see his folks as well as Kirk reacting to his surprise! Thanks for expanding my knowledge!
