I may have to sell my '72 SuperChet. Paul Yandell put me in touch with Duke Kramer 8-13 years back & Duke sold me a new Gold Bigsby with the Chet "wire handle" & matching Bridge. The neck was refretted & setup by legendary luthier Don Teeter in Oklahoma City when I traded for for the guitar in 1984. String action is very low & a dream to play. Sadly I've played it very little.

Binding ob the neck was failing so I had it replaced by Don Tetter's recommended luthier Ron at Honest Ron's guitars in OKC. He has done quite a projects for me & does excellent work.

I haven't been able to find many SuperChets around so I don't know what the current value for them is.

Any help is appreciated!

Michael J.

Michael,
I just did a quick check of recently sold Super Chet's on Ebay. Someone stole one for $1285, and the only other one sold for $2250. Those are real selling prices.

Michael -
Chuck's findings on Ebay are typical for used SuperChets. If it is in good shape and original, asking 2000-2500 should be about right. The '72 model is the first one (it had a fancier pickguard and a wider neck), so it could be worth a slight premium to some buyers. Perhaps you could post some pictures here on the ChetBoard.
Good Luck with the sale,
Bill

Michael. Go to Google and type in Gbase ' type in Gretsch Super Chet and you will find three priced from $2.500 to$3.900 with photo so you can compare. My advice don't sell it. Good luck, Stan.
