Thanks Chuck! I scooped it up. Can't complain about a 174 shipped to your door for $100! Should be a fun project. I have a H173 that I also got for dirt cheap (like $50) in excellent condition. I sent this guitar to Kirk Sand and had him fit one of Sam Kennedy's Prismatone pickups to it. He also shaved the neck and refinished it - it is awesome. Now I will be doing all the work myself on the H174 - I've been practicing with other guitars. It will be fun to compare the sound of the 173 and 174.

Hi Alex - sounds like you got yourself a bargain if it's in good condition. I picked up my H173 a couple of years back and had a local luthier here in the north of England fit one of Sam's Prismatones. I've been playing it every day ever since and absolutely love it. It seems to get louder and sweeter sounding all the time.

Look forward to hearing how you get on with your new acquisition.

Good luck :D
