Hello,

here is my last Chet Atkins guitar for sale. it's a 1960 Gretsch Chet Atkins Country gentleman, single cutaway, slightly wider neck, well, the close copy of Chet's.
Here are the pics from the store i bought it about 7-8 years ago (Guitar Broker). The guitar is in the exact same condition (juste a bit more shinny ;-)) so the are representative. I can take newer ones if needed.

It's palying perfectly, the neck is straight and the trussrod is working, only the Bigsby spring is not original (but the original is in the case). So it comes with its case and some original papers.

I'd need $9300 for it, preferably in Europe but is can go back to USA (where i bought it) at buyers cost if needed.

Regards,

DENIS

I wish Gretsch would make the new 1959 CG with that color and finish.

Eddie, I think our Chetboard friend David Elliott has also mentioned the same over the years and I am certainly in agreement. Wasn't that a beautiful guitar?!! Some of them had a subdued dark green undertone here and there in their color and finish. I can well remember seeing them in music stores of that era but they were out of my price range at that time,,,I forget what they cost,,,over $600 weren't they? It would be nice to see that offered again by Gretsch in their CG line. Maybe they will do it again one day.

Yeah it would not be hard to do. The 1958 CG they make is close to that now.
Just add the longer wider neck and they would be almost exact.

Gayle hope you come to CAAS this year. I really have missed seeing you!

Thank you Eddie,,,,I'm going to try and do that, I've missed seeing you and all my old friends. Family ties and responsibilities in that area have kept me 'out of the loop' for a long time but I plan on getting around more in the future. I'm so glad I was able to be at CAAS through most of Chet's 'glory years' - - I have many fond memories of all those times. I sure miss ole Paul, there will never be another one like him either.

I think about Paul every day. I am glad I got to know Micah and Marie.
That has been a great bonus to having known Paul.

Every time I pick up a guitar I think about Paul.
