What is the make and age of the nine string guitar? I wonder what the history is on a nine string guitar.
Thank you for the pictures. I always look forward to pictures from CAAS.

Hi George,
Great pics!
Would you happen to know the model of the double cutaway that Thom Bresh is playing w/Bobby Gibson?
Thanks,
Randy Parker/Kiefer,OK

Randy,
I think that was a double cut 6120 that Bresh was playing.
Ray,
Thanks. I wish I would have taken more pics, but it is always a hassle carrying around a bunch of gear at CAAS.

Paul,
Michael Coppola can talk more about the 9 string, but I think it dates back to 86 or so. It is his own design as far as strings go. I had the opportunity to sit around and listen to him play in the hotel bar on Sat night, and he can play some very lush melodies with that thing. He gave me a copy of his new cd, "Voicings In My Head", and I listened to it on the drive back to Peoria. It is great stuff...though I am sore that I can't steal any licks from him!

Thanks for the picture, they are the first ones I've seen from this year, I hope there are others on the web somewhere, didn't find any on the Gretsch page like last year.

George, you and I are both attracted to similar elements of music. My arrangements tend to include a lot of harmony also. I like what I've seen you do and I also appreciated Michael Coppola when I watched him play at the 25th CAAS in 2009.
