So sorry to hear of Evan's passing. I think he would have been one of the great ones.

I have to tell you about Evan. Evan was amazing! I played with him regularly for the last six years at various area events, at nursing homes, on the radio, the local Red Skelton Performing Arts Center and most notably for me at CAAS. The last time we played was the night before he died. It was one of those good nights when things clicked and it was fun. I have played for well over 50 years with different people and groups and he was by far the best I ever played with! He could do things with the guitar that I only dreamed of doing. I never saw anyone learn and progress they way he did. He was nine or ten I think the first time I played with him. I'd fill in when someone in the group couldn't be there so sometimes it would be several weeks between times I saw him and every time I'd see such improvement. He really was a child prodigy. In addition, Evan was a great kid. I had to keep reminding myself that he was still a kid. He knew more about the history of recordings-when they were recorded and by which artists they anyone I know of.. he was a walking encyclopedia. He was an excellent student and was attending Vincennes University studying recording technology. This is such a loss for all of us, but especially for his parents Rick and Jamie. Evan was an only child and their lives were totally centered on Evan. Please keep them in your prayers.

I wasn't aware of Evan Twitty but I'm sad about his early demise. I had thought that "Twitty" was a fictitious surname since Conway Twitty was actually Harold Jenkins. Now I see it's not. Maybe the late C.T. had a relative he named himself after for his singing carreer. Who Knows?

Watched the tribute, and he was definitely a hot picker!

The jam session at 19:12 was worth the price of admission!
