Does anyone know if Eddie P. is still an active touring artist? He used to have a website where I bought a couple of his CD's but it's not out there anymore that I can find. I love his youtube performance of "Merle's Dance" but the sound quality is lacking. Does he have a CD out with that tune on it? Thanks in advance.

To my knowledge Eddie has never recorded the tune. Dad wrote it and gave it to Eddie and he put his own twist on it and made it exactly what dad wanted Eddie to do with the tune. I wish Eddie would record it, may never happen. I know Bella plays it as well and does a great job with it. I was there the night dad showed it to Eddie and he picked right up on it, the next time I heard Eddie play it, he had added his own arrangement which I thought was great. God Bless Eddie, think the world of him!

After reading these posts, I went on YouTube to watch Eddie's performance. That is a great song and he played it great, too. I really enjoyed the video. Wish Eddie would record it. Thanks for the info about it.

Thanks Micah. I've listened to Bella Speelman's version and it is good but sounds like me if I tried to play it, a Chet Atkins type picker playing a Merle Travis song. I always loved Merle's heavy thumb sound and Eddie Pennington has it down and a guitar to match what Merle was playing later on in his career.

Your so right, Eddie knocks it out of the park and I'm extremely proud that he does!

Eddie has devoted himself to that style and it's not just about the music but even the technique that Merle used!
