Chet at the Met

I just returned from Spring Break trip to NYC. If anyone goes there, I suggest visiting the Metropolitan Museum of Art. There is an exhibit running through July 4, "Guitar Heroes, Legendary Craftsmen from Italy to New York" http://blog.metmuseum.org/guitarheroes/. Perhaps the most attention of the exhibit is focused on John D'Angelico, though there are also Maccaferri guitars, lutes and even a Stradivarius guitar (1 of 4 known to be made). The D'Angelico Excel Jethro gave Chet (Me and My Guitars p. 61) is on display, plus you can hear a recording of Chet playing Black Mountain Rag. Many beautiful instruments. Worth an afternoon if you're in the area.
