Acknowledging Jerry today

Postby RandeDager » Sun Mar 20, 2011 1:41 pm

I've been waiting to see if anyone would beat me to this, and I've seen a post mentioning Jerry today, but as far as I've seen nobody mentioned the fact that today is his birthday. I was fortunate enough to have seen him in a number of concerts over the years, beginning in the 70's. After one of his concerts in Hagerstown, MD in the mid 90's, I also remember asking him if he was going to attend CAAS that summer and his response was "Are you kidding? ....and make a fool of myself in front of all those guitar pickers?" He never really understood his true place in the guitar world. He would have been 74 today.

Happy birthday up there Jerry! ;) I never had the chance to see him live but I love watching the video clips on youtube. Thanks to the Chetboard folks for keeping his music alive and talkin' about him.
