PBS show with Thom Bresh tonight

Postby rhirvine » Sun Aug 05, 2018 7:08 pm

Well my last post about "From Here to Eternity" got eclipsed (and stomped on) by Doug Working talking about some old network show with Chet and Jerry but maybe this one won't. This is a PBS orange county show here on the west coast tonight entitled "Woodsongs, Celebration of Merle Travis with Thom Bresh, Eddie Penington, Parker Hastings and Katelyn Prieboy. It is from April of last year. Glad I was checking my tv listings because I missed it last year.

Wow! That's great. I'll have to keep my eyes open for that show. We're getting Poldark and Sherlock tonight. Enjoy your TV.

I'm now watching the show and really enjoying it. It seems that you can go to the website, woodsongs.com and click on archives page and select show number 860 to see this show I guess. I haven't tried it yet as I have the show on DVD.

Rich, you can also find many of the Woodsong shows on Youtube. I checked and this show is not there yet, but there are a lot of them. I sure enjoy that show. They've had a lot of our finger pickers on there - # 731 -, as well as other guitar players. Here is the link to the Youtube channel.

I tried going to woodsongs.com and was succressful watching #860 on the archives page. There are lots of other shows there too! I also enjoyed seeing Kaitlyn Prieboy and Parker Hastings there with Eddie Pennington and Thom Bresh.

Glad you were able to see that show Rande. Were any or all of the shows guests at CAAS this year?

Sounds like I missed out on a lot skipping CAAS yet again. I'm glad it didn't work out for me however because I had over $1000 in repair and replacement expenses in July.

Rich, I've found that once people (on the climb) are formally placed on the schedule at CAAS, they usually show up every year. Kaitlyn and Parker have been there the past 2 years and will most likely continue. Thom is also a regular on the first day and then to close out everything before Saturday night. Eddie has been there the past several years but doesn't fit into either of those categories.
