You've got another mini "claim to fame", Kirk - every year when I'm bonin" up on some Christmas tunes I find your arrangement of "I'll Be Home" and tuck (most of it) away. This year I made a demand on myself to actually do your little Am "h-pure tone" harmonics!!! I can do them here at the kitchen table, but get too nervous when "in the circle" - well, there's always next year.... :D

This year I tried to put your "Christmas Waltz" under my fingers, too. Oh, maybe the year after.....

Dave Sullivan up here in Columbus plays a medley of hymns that includes Rick Foster's "Swing Low." Really neat stuff.

Rande,

I remember reading that letter between Rick and Chet. It sure touched my heart. It may still be available for reading online.

Pickin Palmer,

It’s a good feeling to know that there are players out there that find my arrangements interesting enough to learn. I am honored. :-)

“I’ll Be Home for Christmas” and “Christmas Waltz” were two of twelve arrangements I pitched to Mel Bay back in 2000.
Though they liked the arrangements, they didn’t want to deal with the copyright issues so they opted to not publish the book.
Since then my Christmas arrangements have grown to around 20 along with two Christmas compositions. One of my compositions, “The Holiday Rag,” was posted on TablEdit’s Tab of the Month YouTube page back in 2013. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BXbTfTGXGKE
Unfortunately, I haven’t done much playing in the last several years and can’t remember how to play most of the tunes I’ve arranged. Fortunately, I was wise enough to notate them all so they are not lost to time. :-)

One of my New Years resolutions is to schedule practice time into at least five days each week. If I can get my playing skills where they need to be, I hope to start posting some YouTube performances.

Sure am looking forward to those Y'tube performances. I've done a few myself on good ol' Y'tube. Tons, in fact. Over the years.
