Re: Chet special release for Record Store Day Black Friday
Interesting news! This makes me return - once again - to the 5-CD-collection Chet Atkins - The Early Years (JSP Records 7794A). The first two tracks on record A) are Guitar Blues (Picking the Blues) and Brown Eyes, not Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain as mentioned.
Chester Atkins and the Allstar Hillbillies recorded the songs in Nashville, mid 1946. The musicians were: Chet of course, Louis Innis rhythm guitar, Roy Lanham guitar, Jack Shook vocal and guitar on track 2, Ernest Newton bass, E. R. "Dutsch" McMillin clarinet.
Blue Eyes crying in the Rain may have been recorded as well, withour being included in this collection.

Just when I think I have every Chet recording ever made, then (to quote Gomer) "Surprise, surprise, surprise!""
This is the kind of surprise I live for.
