CAAS 1999, Music City Sheraton in Nashville. I think this is Buster in his prime. He loved to play and share his knowledge. Video sent to me by my friend Jim Herald - more to come!

I think there is a misunderstanding about what it takes to play like Buster. Most people I've talked to feel that if they could learn every little lick and get it perfectly in their mind then the "mystery" would be solved and they would have it. The physical obstacles will become very apparent!

Also Tom, this video must have happened before 2009 because he died on Ground Hog day of 2009. Maybe the 2008 convention or earlier?

It was 1999.

There was a typo.

Nice find, Tom. Only thing missing is Buster saying, "Hey, Brooks - go up to my room and get me another beer!" :) (My timing may be off a bit - I'm not sure he was bringing Brooks, yet, in '99?)

Amazing stuff, thanks a lot :) Buster is my favourite picker next to Chet and Jerry.

Did he perform there on different days? There is another video on youtube that is from 1999 too but he is wearing different clothes:

Here is "Alabama Jubilee" from the same show you posted, different angle:

I wonder if there is any stuff with Chet and Buster playing together? There is a pic on a Buster DVD that shows him and Chet on stage together.

Wow! He could sure play fast and exciting guitar. I never heard him play like this in the past. Too bad he died so young.

Ouch! Quite so Rande. It was his high speed improvising in the live but casual setting that took my breath away. At least it seemed like he was improvising.
