Paul Yandell's great Chet type pickin

Postby rhirvine » Mon Jan 25, 2016 5:59 pm

Here is a link to just one of Paul Yandell's takes on a Chet Classic, It's so elegant and he throws in variations that a guy like me would never think of. Yet they are approachable by an amateur Chet picker like me. Here Paul is playing "Oh By Jingo" which was one of the first Chet arrangements which I learned many many years ago but I wish I could play it like Paul does in this take. Also I enjoyed Paul's renditions of other popular classics like "After you've gone", and "Anything Goes".

Paul was such a good, unselfish human being. His playing was always first rate, and as Mark said, showed his years of dedication to what he did.
