It has been a long, slow slog getting my book about Paul Yandell and his life and times moving with the publisher I'm contracted with but this morning I got to approve the cover and catalog paragraphs.
I gave them a hard nudge because my COPD is starting to really affect my lifestyle so they're trying to move things up (I hope)
Still to do... they will be assigning a reading editor who will read the content and call me out on whatever issues might arise.
No publication date mentioned but at least there is movement in the brush...

Norm, another plus is that you'll probably never have any competition! I doubt that there is anyone else singling out Paul Yandell. He played a very significant role in Chet's career and in the careers of a few others before him but (due to his own preference) he never stood out as a soloist, though very capable!

Re: it's alive...it's alive
It is, as the title suggests
Paul Yandell, Second to the Best … a Sideman’s Chronicle
a "sideman's chronicle" that describes the bittersweet life of a professional musician in the second half of the twentieth century.
The cover is skillfully laid out showing several photos of Paul working with Chet but the "bait" is prominent pictures of Chet, including a large image of one of his road worthy gibson gentlemans.
So, yes, it is about Paul, his voice is seen through the whole thing but it is also about a lifestyle and the development of the golden years of digital recording. Hows and whys of guitar tinkering and design...all Kindsa things
...and a foreword by Steve Wariner
Definitly not a "one trick pony" of a book
