Does anyone have a good Chet-esque arrangement of the song Wayfaring Stranger? It's a beautiful melody and I can play a simple version but I am looking for some ideas and variations. If any one has some ideas they would like to share that would be great. Any tab would would be much appreciated.
Any help for would greatly be appreciated!
Thanks
Re: Wayfaring Stranger
Hi Drail,
I’ve put an arrangement of it together with a feel I think is somewhat similar to Windy and Warm which I’ve been planning to record and post on Youtube. I just haven’t gotten around to it. But seeing your post here motivates me to do it soon. I haven't tabbed it out and probably won't because I'm very slow at that. But I’ll plan on posting a link once I get it online. Maybe I'll get it done next week some time.

Rick Foster has a great arrangement of this tune on his "Faith Is The Reason" CD. There is also a book available with all the music from the CD. His website is:

Hi Darryl,
I typed in fingerstyle arrangement of Wayfaring Stranger on the search line at the Youtube site and it came up with many videos. Here are some links to some of those videos and one of them is a link to a site with PDF tabs of Jerry Reed's intro to the song. I hope this helps. I sure wish there had been an internet and a Youtube when I started playing back then. It is so neat to check out how others do things and get you started on coming up with something of your own.

Richard Kiser's arrangement is sort of Chet like and maybe you can pick up some ideas from it.

Re: Wayfaring Stranger
Thanks everyone for the response!!
I really like Richard Kiser's version, Wesley's version is very nice as well. Obviously Jerry Reed's intro is good too. I may try to incorporate his intro as part of my arrangement. It has a good soulful feeling to it.
Art: I would love to hear your version of Wayfaring Stranger, there art so many ways to play that song. Plus your picking is mighty fine so I would love to hear it.
Ray: Thanks for all the resources. Looks like I need to go practice!!
