Chet Requested an autograph?

Postby Jack Miller » Thu Dec 13, 2012 2:06 pm

I'm told at last night's "String Fever" concert in Nashville, someone made a remark about a player, saying this individual was the only guitar player Chet asked for an autograph. If true, anybody know who might it have been?

Was told the concert was excellent.

True

Django Rheinhardt

Chet wasn't well known at the time and Django spoke no English. He could bareley write having learned how relatively late in life

Like Norm said, it was Django. Chet saw him play in Chicago when he was touring with Duke Ellington in the late 1940's. He signed it "D. Reinhardt"......
Thanks,

Chet gave that autogragh to Dr. Mark Pritcher at the 1999 convention. That is also when he gave Tommy the CGP and it was the last convention Chet attented.
