My guess is the superlick was firsy played in the 1800's by a virtuoso violin or piano player. Giuliani and Carcassi both had licks similar to the superlick in some of their compositions for guitar. Reagradless of how or nwhen Chet came up with the superlick, he made it his own. That's why he's Mr. Guitar!
