I'm not Mike, but that's ok. Lots of good stuff on the webpage about Margaret Fields original club.

I too needed money in 1964 and sold the 6120 for $250 complete with the stationary vibrato arm that Chet and Paul Bigsby made for me. Have no idea who I sold the guitar to and would love to find out. I guess we were all stupid at times in our lives.

Hey Joe,

I'll give you one for the "stupid contest"...although it has nothing to do with guitars.

The first time I got a deer in Colorado's big game season, I was so enthralled, that after field dressing the animal and loading it in the back of my jeep, I happily drove off, leaving my brand new Winchester rifle on top of the vehicle...

Needless to say, it was some other hunter's lucky day!  :x

My wife read your message about your lost rifle an she said GOOD for you. We own 2 farms and there is no way that she will let you kill any animal, period. We live on one of the farms and the other one is leased out to my cousin. Her rules are, do not kill any animal. I have to listen to her because she is a better marksman that I am and I taught her how to shoot. Seriously, I do not want to offend any hunters, but we have a no kill shelter and these homeless animals are our life and mean a lot to us.

Hi Joe,

You may tell your wife that I happen to agree with her 100% on this subject! I have not hunted for many years for that very reason. One of our daughters runs a animal rescue facility out in the high desert here in California.

However, this is a very complex subject, and probably shouldn't be a topic here on the ChetBoard. I'd be happy to discuss it however with you (and her), off the Board.

Regards,
David

getting back on topic , i am not old enough to have been a original member of the club but haveing been a chet fan all of my life , have had the pleasure of meeting one of them .

i am sure someone here remembers a fellow by the name of Ted Walters.

i meet him thru a fellow picker and was in complete awe of all the stuff he had concerning chet . pictures of him and chet and jerry, guitars , lps, and he had kept as far as i know every mailing from the old club . he even trusted me with it and i was going to make a copy of all of it , but stupid me never did . i suppose his son has it all now .

some of the talks with ted made me extremely envious of him . his times with chet would have been a dream come true for many of us .
i recon they are all together now pickin and grinin
